Grace: It's Our Way of Life

As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the Scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.

Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome
because we are only here by Grace.

Carl Heinrich Bloch (Danish painter, 1834-90), Christ and Staff, oil on canvas.

Sermon on the stories we tell to make meaning, on how our story fits into God's story, and what that means for our lives as Christians, Americans, and users of Facebook.  This the eight o'clock version of the sermon and may differ slightly from the one you heard.  Don't be alarmed.

The Collect
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
